Product Description:

(Upgraded to all 9 grades!)
The same abrasive you've come to love from Micro-Mesh placed on a padded backing. While Micro Mesh works great on plastics. Some customers prefer the padded backing for wet sanding their acrylics. These pads also work wonderfully on CA finish.  After turning and applying the CA to your pen, razor, ect., sand your turning with each of these grits to produce a extremely glossy, glass-like finish!

ALL 9 GRADES of these 2 inch square padded abrasive sheets make polishing your plastics easier than ever before!

These pads are color coded and come with the color chart.  Every pad has the same grit on the front and the back.  You get twice the longevity from each pad as you do from other brands.

Micro-Mesh™ features tiny abrasive crystals on 2" square foam pads. These gentle "cushioned" particles generate less heat and friction than ordinary finishing papers, don't load up as quickly, and last much longer. Use Micro-Mesh with soapy water to produce a scratch-free mirror shine finishes. Great for repairing scratches and overspray. Perfect for polishing paint, plastics, wood, jewelry, polymer clay and anything else that needs a fine polish

Micro-Mesh was developed for polishing jet windshields to maintain their optical clarity. But since then they have found hundreds of uses.

These are the original Made in U.S.A. brand and not the cheap overseas imitations. Don't bother with the ones that have the grit printed on them, they don't last.

While these can be used wet, you should not soak them in water as the Micro Mesh may separate from the foam. You get 9 double sided 2" pads along with a laminated color coded card showing each grits color coding.

The grits include 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 & 12000

Sanding Rolls

These abrasive rolls are 1” wide, long lasting, fast cutting, cloth backed rolls.

Get what you need, when you need it.  There is no reason to buy a kit with the grits you don’t need!  Why waist large pieces of paper for small jobs?  Cut off a section of this paper and sand away.  This works great for woodturning.

This abrasive paper is sold by the foot.  A quantity of one(1), you will receive one(1) foot of abrasive.

Sanding Wax

Please view my Turning Supplies section for great prices on woodturning supplies HERE.

Below are two recipes for this product.  One uses paraffin wax and the other uses bees wax.  The bees wax seems to be a little better but is more expensive.

Equipment:
1 Large pot with water

1 Small pot placed into the water

Bees wax:

Ingredients:
16 ounce mineral oil
1 lb. bees wax
1 pint containers with lids.

Boil a pot of water and place the smaller pot into the water. This is known as a double boiler. Add the bees wax and oil to smaller pot. Allow the wax to melt. Bees wax melts at less than 200 degrees so the boiling water will melt it slowly. As soon as it is melted, remove it from the water and set on counter. Stir the mixture for a few seconds. Scoop out some of the melted oil/wax mixture into your containers to cool.

Paraffin Wax:

One ¼ pound bar of paraffin wax

½ cup of mineral oil.

Boil a pot of water and place the smaller pot into the water. This is known as a double boiler. Add the paraffin wax and oil to smaller pot. Allow the wax to melt. As soon as it is melted, remove it from the water and set on counter. Stir the mixture for a few seconds. Scoop out some of the melted oil/wax mixture into your container to cool.

After using the sanding wax, I use Shellawax cream.

This product will not freeze, or dry out, and it will last for years.
