Hollow Forms

Hollow forms are simply vases with small holes at the top.  All of the hollow forms I create are made from local, native hardwoods.  Each piece is hand carved on my wood lathe without the use of any duplicating tools.  Each is done free hand for originatlity.  This ensures a truely unique piece.

This vase was handmade in my shop from a piece of maple.  It was turned to approximately 4" tall and 4" in diameter and sanded to 600 grit for an extremely smooth finish.  After sanding, the piece was oil and allowed to dry.  Once the oil was cured, the entire piece was buffed and waxed using an extremely strong, durable was known as Carnauba wax.  This finishing process provides a long lasting satin finish that screams "touch me".
